| 7 April 2006 The first race is at Assen, Holland on Bank Holiday Monday, 17th April. The Le Mans 24hrs race the following weekend on 22nd/23rd April.
The Team have been concentrating on setting the bikes up for the Le Mans circuit, especially with its new layout, trying numerous suspension and gearing options as well as testing new 2006 race tyres from Pirelli. Four Diablo 666 riders were in attendance, James Hutchins, new guys Marko Rohtlaan and Alex Cudlin and French rider Olivier Ulmann, who will be deputising for James at the French race, as James has final college exams to sit. This was the first time Diablo 666 had been to the French circuit and was also the first time Alex had seen the circuit let alone raced there before. A very sharp learning curve for all the Team ahead of the race in a fortnight but the long trek will certainly pay dividends when Diablo 666 return. Miles Hutchins added, “We are here to set the bikes up due to the varying track conditions and temperatures we are likely to face during the 24hrs race in a fortnight. All the riders rode extremely well with no accidents. Diablo 666 will be ready!” Alex Cudlin, “What an amazing place, what’s it going to be like with 100,000 fanatical supporters here as well? I noticed the massive bonfires being built and have been told the smoke at night really gets into your lungs – just amazing!” Marko Rohtlaan, “The Dunlop curve has made the circuit even better, even more technical”. James Hutchins, “ What a shame I can’t be here for the race. The atmosphere here is always amazing”. Olivier Ulmann, “The Diablo 666 bikes are very, very fast, I am looking forward to the race very much”. Look out for more news on Diablo 666 in the very near future, the new 2006 season is just a week away! |
