Diablo 666 HM Racing's Piers Hutchins produced some really great rides in the Triumph Triple Challenge season opener at Brands Hatch Indy circuit (24/25 April) with a best lap time of 49.4 - by far the fastest he has ever achieved around the Brand Indy circuit and very credible for a HM Racing prepared T3R Stock Triumph 675.
A packed crowd of 40,000 race fans sweltered in Brands Hatch for an Easter treat, and the Triumph Triple Challenge front runners didn’t disappoint, with Piers finishing a very close 4th in his first race, after he was extremely lucky to avoid the rider in 3rd position who crashed right in front of him missing Piers's front wheel by millimetres on the last lap. Whilst Piers was taking avoiding action the rider in 5th position nipped up the inside to claim 3rd.
The second race was a similar story. On the last lap when Piers was dicing for 5th and whilst trying to get past the rider on the outside, Piers ran wide at Graham Hill allowing the rider in 7th to stuff his Triumph up the inside. Piers ended up 7th by 200th of a second. What close racing...
These strong rides have put Piers in 4th place in the championship - and have demonstrated how far he has progressed already this year in terms of lap times and skill.
Next up - the stunning Oulton Park to celebrate the Royal Wedding fiesta!!"
If you like Triumphs and want to "Back Britain" then this series is a real must to watch - come and see us at the circuits around the UK or watch us on TV when the races are televised alongside the other BSB races. If you come to the BSB rounds look for the big blue tents where all the T3R race teams are housed and come and say hello.
